Guy and Ralna are an American singing duo who were regulars on The Lawrence Welk Show from 1970 to 1982.
The act is made up of Guy Hovis and Ralna English. They got married in early 1969 and performed on Lawrence Welk’s Christmas show that same year. English had been a solo performer on the show for a few months. He had joined in mid-1969. They are experts in country, gospel, big band, and popular music.
The couple has made several albums, including Hymns We Love to Sing, which was nominated for a Dove Award in 1972. Country Songs We Love to Sing, which came out in 1973, reached its peak at No. 21 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Their prominence peaked in the 1970s, when they had their own fan club and made many appearances on other TV shows and commercials.
Inside Guy Hovis And Ralna English Divorce
Guy Hovis and Ralna became an immensely popular, and from 1970 to 1982, they were the most popular husband and wife team to ever appear on the Show.
Ralna English met Guy Hovis in 1969 when they were both performing at The Horn, a nightclub in Santa Monica, California. Guy and Ralna got a divorce in 1978, after their daughter Julie was born.

After divorcing in 1984, Guy & Ralna pursued separate careers. Ralna continued her gospel singing while Guy became an advisor to childhood friend, Senator Trent Lott of Louisiana. After Lott retired from the Senate, Guy began singing again with Ralna and they are again performing together regularly.
Since then, they have worked together again and have continued to perform, both at PBS pledge specials and in concert halls. They have also performed at political events for U.S. Senator Trent Lott.
“Guy and I were deeply in love, but we never really liked each other,” Ralna told Midwest Today in an interview. Ralna had a nervous breakdown in 1980, which she told Larry King about when she was a guest on Larry King Live. She was able to get better with the help of medicine and medical care.
In 2010, Ralna and her husband were happy to see their daughter Julie get married. Ralna lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and she still does a lot of shows all over the United States and Canada.

Ralna Eve English is an American singer from Haskell, Texas. She was born on June 19, 1942. She became well-known as one half of the husband-and-wife singing duo Guy & Ralna, which she formed with her then-husband Guy Hovis. The two of them sang on The Lawrence Welk Show.
She grew up in Lubbock, Texas. When she was a teenager, her band, “Ralna and the Ad-Libs,” won a local battle of the bands. Buddy Holly, who was born and raised in Lubbock, was one of her competitors. She went to Texas Tech University and sang jingles for TV commercials in Dallas. In the late 1960s, she moved to California, where she often performed at The Horn nightclub in Santa Monica.
