Debbie Savarino, Lindy Frasher, and Jamie Spatola are their three daughters. In all, they have nine grandchildren. As the assistant director of athletics at Duke, Debbie is a member of the faculty. In 1969, Coach K and his wife Mickie got married in a small Catholic chapel in West Point, New York, on the day he graduated. On their 35th wedding anniversary in 2004, they renewed their vows at Duke Chapel to show how strong their love is.
Mickie and her husband got married 53 years ago, so she was able to see his whole career and be by his side for some very important moments. Like in 2015, when he won 1,000 NCAA division basketball games and became the first coach in history to do so.
The Wall Street Journal said that Mickie was the only person who could get him to stop playing when he hurt his back during the 1994–1995 season.
